It doesn’t come as a surprise to Alpha that the 501st’s latest addition - Skywalker’s shadow, a Togrutan girl who doesn’t seem far removed from her first handling of a lightsaber - is every bit as inquisitive and brash as her Master was, not so long ago.

The details are hardly relevant, of course, but Alpha vividly remembers being frustrated and amused in turns by Skywalker’s antics when he was still Kenobi’s Padawan. So when Rex comes to him, looking half out of his mind with exasperation, Alpha finds his sympathy is greatly outweighed by amusement.

“I don’t know what to do with her,” Rex says plaintively when he’s finally exhausted every instance of Tano’s creativity somehow making its way into Torrent’s battle strategies.

“Same thing you would do with any cadet,” Alpha answers with a shrug. “It’s straightforward enough.”

“But that’s the thing - I have no idea what to do with a cadet, either,” Rex says, and there’s definitely a note of desperation in his voice now.

As per usual, Fordo decides it’s high time he contributes to the conversation. “You and Alpha are in the same boat, then.”

“Shabuir,” Alpha says, affronted. “I knew what I was doing.”

Fordo turns to Rex, grinning like the di’kut he is. “In that case, I’m sure Sev will have all kinds of advice for you.”

Fordo is entirely too clever for his own good, Alpha decides, but resolves to take it up with him later in the face of Rex’s distress. He really doesn’t have the first clue what to do with a scrappy little Padawan, but Rex doesn’t need to know that.

“Just do what Skywalker does,” Alpha finally says, and regrets it almost immediately. He may not know much about kids, but he’s pretty sure that if he were responsible for assigning a Padawan to a Master, Skywalker would be his last choice. “... or not.”

Luckily, Rex seems to be thinking along similar lines. “He’s got an unusual method. That’s how General Kenobi puts it, anyways.”

“Technically, his Padawan shouldn’t be your responsibility,” Alpha points out. “But seeing as it’s Skywalker…”

“I have to fill in the gaps,” Rex supplies diplomatically. “So how did you handle it on Kamino, then?”

“With a lot of swearing,” Fordo says, utterly shameless.

“With a lot of - no, not with a lot of swearing - well - with a lot of, uh… creativity.”

“He doesn’t like kids,” Fordo adds.

“I never said - cadets are a handful and you know it.”

“Don’t let him fool you,” Fordo continues, conveniently deaf to Alpha’s indignation but still grinning all the same. “He didn’t have the first clue what he was doing.”

“Are you done?” Alpha demands.

Fordo feigns concentration. “No, I don’t believe so.”

“Ne’johaa,” Alpha grumbles, then turns to Rex. “Just… make sure she doesn’t get killed.”

“You’ve really improved your bedside manner, ner vod.”

“I’m going to kill you,” Alpha promises. “She’ll be old enough to take care of herself soon enough,” he adds, returning to Rex. “Help her as needed and let her learn from her mistakes. Simple as that.”

Rex’s relief is palpable. “Help her. That, I can do. Thanks, Alpha.”

“Ba’gedet’ye. Now get out of here before Skywalker blows something else up.”

“I can see the headlines now,” Rex sighs, and unclips his helmet from his belt. “I’m sure I’ll be seeing you before too long, if those two keep going at the rate they do.”

“I’m sure,” Alpha agrees drily, and he can’t help but laugh at the look on Rex's face.

Rex makes his way out of the room. No sooner does the door close than Fordo turns to Alpha, a crooked grin spreading across his face once more.

Alpha lets out a sigh of his own. “I’ll bite. What?”

“So if Tano is Skywalker’s Padawan, and Rex is sort of like her buir… does that make you her ba’buir?”

Someoka and Tobitaka have resigned and started to ask for more french fries (or if they are eating at home, they cook more than usual).   ❥ who jokingly moves in for the kiss when someone asks if they’re a couple: Sometimes Tsunami and Fudou often follow his joke. But I think they all prefer to make things clear to avoid misunderstandings (Stuff is clear between them all. I mean other people misunderstanding their friendship). ❥ who has to bust or bail the other out of jail: Mhm, I can't really think about a situation when they went to jail. But in the hypothetical case. Probably, Someoka or Tobitaka. If they all are in prison they would probably call Endou. ❥ who gives the other advice/comfort about dating issues: I guess we all agree that Tobitaka is the best one of them all about advices + comfort (in general). Someoka is more like the kind of friend that would hear all your problems/ support you. Fudou is like, in the middle, he isn’t good like Someoka or Tobitaka but he’s always there to give you advice or hear your problems if you ask. I don’t think that Someoka or Tobitaka really cares about it...? and probably prefer the bottom bed. And Fudou doesn’t mind about it, unless it’s a pull-out bed. ❥ who starts and who wins the pillow fights: Tsunami usually starts the fights, but I think they all can win tbh, it’s depents. ❥ who says “your pants would look better on their floor” to the other’s potential crush: I feel like I’m answering Tsunami and Fudou a lot but IJDASOIDA THEY WOULD DO IT. Someoka and Tobitaka are more chills and discrete about it.

Toramaru and Tachimukai:

The only way I can see them in jail it's because they were "Disturbing the peace" cause someone insulted their senpais. Toramaru I think is more like a supportive friend that would encourage Tachimukai when you need it. ❥ who shamelessly cheats at games by reaching over to cover the other’s eyes: Both. Probably Toramaru started but then Tachimukai pays him back in his own coin. ahsoka & maul have known him before, barriss only knows about him in talks and ventress has no fucking clue about him - she's not impressed.

when he see's ahsoka he's so surprised "your alive! thank goodness!" and even hug her, ahsoka is too much in shock to see him still alive in the empire era.

"we haven't seen each other in so long! tell me, when was our last meeting?"

cue maul drawing his saber at the pirate, barriss in shock and ventress just glares, but both kill him if need be.

he casually flirts with the girls with ticks them off, and when he moves onto ahsoka maul GROWLS and he backs away awkwardly and moves on.

they talk things out (they still don't trust him but get along in some ways) and he exchanges them information without any kind of payment (thanks to maul's & ventress's threats).

i have thought of a scene where it's just ahsoka & hondo, sitting alone after an attack by darth vader - it's silent and ahsoka says, in such a quiet and tired voice, that it's anakin. hondo is shocked but leans back heavily in his seat " oh no...that poor boy..." and ahsoka just tears up, and for a rare moment, hondo is genuinely comforting her (a hug, rubs on her back and quiet "sssh"s). it's heartbreaking cause yay angst!

also: rex does NOT get along with hondo at all - doesn't like him and would rather keep far away from hondo as possible.
