Why Deku Is The Best New Gen Protagonist.
Deku’s story arc begins at his lowest point. He’s quirkless in a world where powers define everything. Born without the abilities others take for granted, he's constantly ridiculed and dismissed. He’s down, depressed, and powerless—but that’s where his true strength lies.
From the start of the story, we're shown that setbacks are inevitable, and they can completely alter the course of fate. Not everything goes as planned, and that's something Horikoshi captures perfectly in Deku’s character.
As All For One pointed out, Deku’s true strength lies in his allies. Without the support of the vestiges, he wouldn’t come close to the power All Might had, and he’d stand no chance against All For One.
Deku giving up the power that started his journey, just to save a boy molded by his environment, shows the depth of his compassion. It highlights how much he cares for others and how, at the core, he’s just like the rest of us beneath it all, we all feel emotions.
Deku had countless chances to kill Tomura Shigaraki during their fight, but he never did. He didn’t want to. Instead, Deku kept trying to reach out and save him, believing there was still something worth saving. Most protagonists would have given up and finished the job.
Deku got a quirk but lost it by the end. While his friends became famous top heroes, he ended up as a teacher and never got the girl (or boy) he wanted. He may lack glory, but he embodies true heroism—saving others without recognition or power. That’s what makes him special.
In one way or another, we’ve all experienced what Deku has gone through (except the superhero part). Many have faced friendships growing distant, unfulfilled dreams, or struggles in things we exceed at. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, things just don’t work out.
And that’s something many missed in the ending of MHA. It’s a realistic conclusion for a show reflecting a flawed society. Everyone played a part in the long war against All For One. People won’t praise Deku forever; he will be remembered, but it’s not just about him.
Deku lived happily for eight years, watching his friends thrive. His bravery inspired hope, leading to All Might getting an Iron Man-style suit during the final war. With Deku’s courage, All Might confronted All For One one last time, allowing Deku to become a hero again.
Deku is the best shonen protagonist rising from being quirkless to a hero through resilience and compassion. He values friendships and seeks to redeem others over glory. His journey reflects real struggles and the essence of heroism making him deeply relatable and impactful.
@kingdicemrwheezyflowertor poor Mario, he's still my comfort character and he deserves so much better because losing your friends is a difficult time to heal. I wish I'll hug him and tell him everything will be okay.
A special super Mario compilation for @kingdicemrwheezyflowertor

And a close up ( I love the girls and Annoyed Bakugo)
Anna and serina as teens!
Years ago, they escaped the aduraice mansion when Alice killed everyone for a ritual to be with riba. They found a warp pipe which lead to the mushroom kingdom and the two young children are scared wondering in the kingdom with toads and such. Mario and Luigi found the girls and decided to take them in and raise them as if they were Mario's daughters and Luigi's nieces. Anna became much happier and less depressed and serina remained innocent and fragile. This inspired Anna to be like Mario.
[THE ULTIMATE RANT OF KATSUKI BAKUGOU]
Bakugo that goes overlooked by so many. Bakugo is a character wracked with insecurity and he masks it by acting cold and insensitive. Deep down, he’s just as much of a hero fanatic as Deku, his true nature shines through.
His anger is often played off as a gag, but it’s more than that. Throughout the series there are moments where it’s clear that Bakugo is masking his true feelings. For example, during Joint Training, Bakugo shrugs off All Might’s praise despite AM being his role model.
Bakugo thinks the world of All Might. As a kid, Bakugo would have been stoked to have his idol take an interest in him. But as Bakugo got older and developed an inferiority complex, he no longer feels worthy of All Might. That’s why he acts so cold towards him.
It’s not that Bakugo can’t accept All Might. Rather, it’s that Bakugo can’t accept his current self. His dynamic with Deku is similar. Ever since Deku made Bakugo feel like someone in need of help, Bakugo felt like Deku was looking down on him, so he responded by bullying Deku.
By bullying Deku, Bakugo was rejecting this moment of weakness. Bakugo was totally in the wrong, but you can understand how a child so arrogant being humbled by someone powerless might disrupt his self image. So he hides his true feelings for Deku behind malice.
It’s not that Bakugo would lose respect for Deku without his power. Rather, he believes Deku more than anyone deserves a happy ending. It’s not right that the most selfless hero deserves such a bittersweet conclusion. More than that,Deku is his best friend.
bakugou is just a 17 years old who wants to be a cool hero like all might,he just pretends to be a tough guy to hide his insecurities.
