…This Is Why Fanfics Are Better Than Canon!

Happy early Thanksgiving!

Let’s see where this goes!

“I think I got got everything we need for the spell just like last time.” Dipper stated as he exited out the elevator carrying a rather large box for himself to be carrying.

He set the box down on the ground next to Stan’s head, now Ford can see that the box is filled with many candles. Some new, some used, and some....covered in glitter?

“Plus, Grunkle Stan’s favorite pillow so he doesn’t have to lay his head on the dirty floor anymore!”

While Dipper was setting up some of the candles, Mabel took the dirty and worn out pillow she was carrying out of the elevator and placed it underneath Stan’s head.

She had a smile on her face while making her Grunkle as comfortable as she could on the dirty floor but, if they looked closely at her, they could tell that her smile was just a mask she was wearing to hide her fear. She was the cheerful and positive twin. That was her job since she was born.

“Are you sure you kids know what you’re doing? You’re dealing with dangerous things.” He knows how how powerful these spells are and the last thing he needs right now is some else getting hurt.

Ford felt hard eyes on him. Like needles being jabbed into him.

“Listen hear Great-Uncle Ford.” Dipper voice was as cool as ice yet his eyes were refusing to look up at the man he used to worshiped like a God. Oh the irony. “We have been dealing with dangerous things all summer. All things that could have possibly killed us. We can handle this ourselves, we’ve done this once before anyway.”

His next line was like a needle though Ford’s heart.

“So stay out of it....we don’t need you to hurt Grunkle Stan again.”

The room was quite. No one wanted to comment on his words. The only noise in the room was Dipper taking more the candles out of the box and setting them up in a circle around Stan.

Where his words harsh? Yes, yes they were.

Did Dipper care? Nope, not at all. All he wants right now is for his Grunkle to be ok.

Soon later everything was set.

Just like last time, they all had one of their hands on Stan’s head inside the lit circle of candles.

“Is everyone ready?”

“Yep!”

“You got it dude!”

“.....yes.”

Right when Dipper was about to start the incantation. They heard the elevator descending from the main floor. None of them were paying attention when the elevator was called up.

Ford was the first one to move, “Who is that?” His free hand immediately went to his gun on his thigh ready for another unwanted individual.

As soon as the elevator opened it’s doors, heavy boots and a loud, angry, and......feminine(?) voice bounced off the walls of the basement.

The individual yelled out, “What the hell is going on?!”

You know those AUs and fics where Stan is badly injured/dying in NWHS when the portal opens, and it forces Ford to react differently when he steps out?

Imagine Stan being more exhausted than he was in canon (after all, he was fighting off agents, sprinting across town, and getting thrown around the basement, and adrenaline is one heck of a drug but still)…exhausted to the point that when Ford punches him in the face, Stan just straight up passes out

I’m just picturing Ford going “OH CRAP DID I REALLY HIT HIM THAT HARD” and Soos freaking out that “MR. PINES IS DEAD” and Mabel and Dipper still being like “WHAT IS H A P P E N I N G”

(and Stan will be fine, of course, but Ford’s potential reactions in this scenario are hilarious to me for some reason)

I have an 4-6 page essay, a major project, and a final exam all due on the same date. I need some luck please…

Quick add on because I want to add something to this and it actually kind of works with one of my theories/is actually canon

After hearing Mabel previous statement, something clicked with Ford, “Wait....you’re a Cordaroy?”

“Yeah..... what is it to you?” Wendy is confused enough as it is, now Stan #2 Stanford questioning her family name.

Ford looked shocked but continued, “Is your father Dan Cordaroy?”

Now everyone else is confused, how the hell does Ford know Manly Dan?

Wendy still does trust this guy at all but now, she just wants some answers since this guy knows her dad. “Yeah, he is. How do you know my dad?”

With that information, Ford surprisingly relaxed a bit, only in the slightest though. His shoulders drop but his hand was still on the gun he was pointing at her face moments before.

“Dan build my house back in 1975 when I first moved here after college.”

A very loud “What?!” Echoed though the basement startling Ford making him jump again. “This is definitely not lining up with my fanfiction.”

“My dad build the shack?”, somehow getting more questions them answers.

“That makes no sense, my dad never once said he build the shack nor said that he met “Stan Pines” before.”, Wendy’s dad was always proud of everything he made and always talk about them.

Ford didn’t have time for this. They’re losing time to help Stan even though he’s still mad at him.

But he knows if he doesn’t explain even the most insignificant detail, he’s going to be bombarded with unnecessary questions.

He just sighs and states plainly: “Well your father did indeed build my house many years ago since he was the only contractor in the town. He even let me stay at his cabin while in construction, that was actually how I have my first ghost encounter.”

That answered some questions everyone had but, still rosed some more.

Wendy started rubbing her temples. Great now she’s getting a headache. “You know what? I’ll figure all of that other later.”

Her eyes then drifted over to the unconscious Stan surrounding by candles, “More importantly someone, without talk too fast, explain to me what the heck happened to Mr. Pines!?

Been working on this since yesterday and stayed up till 4 and still didn’t finish until today. 😭 I CANT LIE I was so tempted to just NOT do this at all, but I’m so glad I did because it was a lot of fun to draw.
