A deity is a mystical presence, like a god, that is worshipped by individuals who believe it commands or wields influence over a characteristic of existence. In the witch world, many worship or work with deities or spirits. However, you never need to do this to be a valid witch, and always hold magic within yourself as well.

Worshipping Vs Working With:

Worship:

Worshipping is to believe, honor, and venerate a spirit or deity. This means not only believing in their existence, but admiring their power and displaying gratitude and loyalty towards them.

Working With:

Working with an entity is different than worshipping, although many consider it important to start worship before working with any spirit or deity. (That doesn’t mean stop when you start working with them though!) This is when an entity comes through with energy, messages, and is willing to guide you.

Terminology:

Aspect:

Aspects are a phrase utilized across various beliefs and in theology to illustrate a particular manifestation or perception of a deity or spirit. Subject on the religion, these may possibly be separate, overlapping, or methods of perceiving or conceptualizing the deity in a distinct context.

Devotee:

A passionate or fervent believer in a particular religion, deity, or spirit. To explain further, an individual who is completely devoted and given almost exclusively to conviction, and one who is spiritually committed to conscientious obligations, principles, and ceremonies.

Devotion:

An act of prayer, offering, or ritual, generally cast in private. This can range from playing music, to writing poetry for them. Devotions are often considered to occur solely in the mornings in some cultures.

Epithet:

In Hellenic and European primitive times, an epithet was a informative term to be associated with or occurring in place of the name of a deity or spirit. These epithets are repeated continuously in their ancient literary works, and this phrase is used to specify the characteristics of a deity or spirit.

Matron:

A distinct Goddess you feel most linked and relaxed working in alongside, and can often be demonstrated within themselves. The amount of Matrons an individual may have is a subject to preference.

Offering:

An offering is to put forward something to a deity is to show and recognize allegiance, appreciation, and passion. Offerings are usually given in devotions, in veneration of, and general rituals.

Oracle:

A human being that an entity is conducted to answer when consulted, they convey messages through this deity with the ability of communication of them. Oracles are considered to be dead to many, although there are reconstructionists today.

Patron:

A distinct Goddess or God you feel most connected and comfortable working in conjunction with, and is often displayed within their temperament. The number of patrons a human can have is a matter of choice, although most individuals choose one as their principal spirit.

Priest:

A priest is a human certified to execute the blessed traditions of a religion, deity, or spirit. A Priest is regarded as an authority, and often requires an initiation. This is also sometimes referred to as a High Priest.

Priestess:

A priestess is a woman certified to execute the blessed traditions of a religion, deity, or spirit. A Priestess is regarded as an authority, and often requires an initiation. This is also sometimes referred to as a High Priestess.

Veneration:

To venerate is to worship, respect, and admire another. Metaphysically, veneration is often used as a term of worship to a spirit or deity. Unquestionable and unconditional belief can be associated with this term.

Doubts

Hey guys! So I've rewritten this post about 5 times but I think it's now exactly how I want it to be. Keep in mind that this post is about my personal journey with doubts and how I overcame this hurdle and my opinions on how to overcome it yourself. Take what resonates with you and I hope this helps you 💗 I also apologize about how long it is, I really tried to make it shorter 🥺

The purpose of this post is make you stop doubting the void. It's going to be split into 4 parts:

1. My Own Personal Journey and How I Dealt with Doubts (This section is to share my journey since a lot of people found comfort in knowing that I also struggled with doubts and was still able to enter the void and also show how I personally overcame it)

2. Stop Spiraling into Doubt/Importance of Identifying Triggers (This section is to highlight the importance of identifying and reducing spiraling with doubts)

3. Proof Portfolio (You can find a lot of research backing up the void here)

4. The Real Truth about Doubting the Void (A little recap, a little secret, and some encouragement)

My Journey

I think the best place to start this post is with my own journey just so you guys know that this post isn't just me preaching randomly, but what I've learned from my own experiences.

I learned about the void state when it first started to gain popularity through Angel's (@divineangelbee) blog. Prior to this, I was in the subliminal community and had spent a few days scrolling through r/nevillegoddard and loatumblr. When I came across Angel's post about the void, I was so intrigued and excited. I think we all know the appeal of the void state. This state that you can easily enter and have any desire of yours instantly granted. I was stuck in really hard life situations before and this just seemed like a dream come true. I wanted to learn more.

Other blogs began to pop up talking about the void and I also did my own research. I found out that the void state was documented even before Neville, was present in multiple religions, was a common experience amongst the meditation community, etc. I began to grow more and more excited. It was real!

I began documenting my journey on tumblr on a previous blog and attempting the void myself, although it wasn't as easy as all the blogs said it would be. However, I didn't lose hope and was willing to fail a few times if that meant I was going to get all my desires. I also really liked to read success stories because I felt like they motivated me. However, I started noticing some things about a few success stories. People saying they manifested a gazillion dollars or saying they're dating a celebrity sp when their sp would confirm that theh were in a relationship with someone else (granted they could have been cheated on but how would that happen if you went into the void and manifested your desired relationship with someone?). I wouldn't call these success stories out but it began to sow doubt in my mind. However, I found comfort in Angel's blog. I was one of her anons and she would always reply to me on any questions I had and would always make the void seem so real, so easy, and so attainable. 

Then, Angel was exposed and my doubts went wild. Not only was Angel my favorite blogger but she was the one who introduced the void state to everyone. If she was lying the entire time, who's to say the void state is even real? What if it's all some big lie made my narcissistic, attention seekers on tumblr.

I entered a period of time where I was just very stagnant. I didn't really believe the void anymore, I deleted my own tumblr blog documenting my journey and just scrolled through tumblr aimlessly.Tumblr, especially void tumblr, turned pretty hostile and I remember success stories were being called out, void bloggers were being exposed left and right, and it just became this very negative, very angry place. And all this just made me doubt the void even more. 

But like Uzi said, "You'll get over it." And I did. But it didn't happen naturally, I had to really stop and take a look at myself.

What happened? What REALLY happened? I ultimately came to the realization that all this wasn't even about the void, but Angel's betrayal. I am really embarrassed about this now but back then, I was so obsessed with Angel. Like I wanted to be her so bad, I wanted to enter the void as easily as she could and I loved to keep up with her and send her asks and be her anon. Like I had notifications on for her and would genuinely get so excited whenever she posted, I cringe at the thought of it now.

Not only did I have this parasocial relationship going on, but I also had this association of Angel and the void. For those of you who don't know, Angel would always going around calling herself the it girl of loa tumblr and talk about how she introduced the void and I ate all of that up and in my head, I genuinely had this mental association of Angel to the void.

So when one was exposed, I just believed the other was fake as well. But that's not really the case, is it?

I realized tumblr was doing more harm than good and I deleted it. I'm not going to lie and act like I deleted it and just moved on. I had relapses and i would get so frustrated as to why I was so addicted to tumblr and I had to constantly self reflect. I watched a few videos on YouTube on being addicted to social media and I think that's what eventually helped me delete it and keep it deleted. After deleting tumblr for good, I went back to my initial research that I did when I first found out about the void. I reread everything. I did even more research. I began finding people talking about the void in various fields during various time periods. I was slowly rebuilding my understanding of the void as well as my trust.

I also indulged in a lot of things I didn't before. I remember listening to a lot of subliminals for the void state, limiting beliefs, and self love. [I know people will ask me which ones and I didn't have any playlists or anything but there were a few I really liked and felt like they made a difference so here they are: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8]. I loved (and still do) watching self care/mindfulness content like how to overcome doubts and become your dream girl and stuff like that.

During this time, I came to terms with something else. Taking accountability and blaming myself. Up until this point, if you had asked me why I began doubting the void, I would have blamed tumblr or the lying bloggers who were exposed. But honestly, that's not the case. It was my fault. The truth is, we all know that some bloggers are lying. Whether they're doing so to live in the end or just to get attention, it's something that happens. I know I got hated on for saying this before but I've literally gotten asks where people told me they got scammed by multiple bloggers who claimed they would enter the void for them and we've seen multiple bloggers get exposed so I think it's time we accept that this is just something that is going to happen in this community.

But other people lying should have NEVER affected me the way that it did. One tumblr blogger should have NEVER completely shaken up my faith in something as proven as the void as it did for me. And I couldn't just sit and blame others, I had to take accountability. I had Void Tumblr and Angel especially on such a high pedestal when it should have never been like that and that's why one blogger lying was able to have such a massive impact on me to the point where I was genuinely depressed.

I couldn't continue blame lying bloggers because that puts my faith in the void in the hands of external factors that I have no control over so I had to take accountability and blame myself for putting tumblr and Angel on such a high pedestal and just attaching my entire faith to tumblr and being so parasocial and obsessed with "the community" and Angel.

Also, I touched on this before but I definitely had a mental association in my head that:

The Void -> Tumblr/Angel

Deleting tumblr and indulging in my research helped to breakdown that association but in order to make sure this never happened again, I had to completely reframe how I viewed tumblr.

Honestly, void tumblr is such a good resource when used correctly. There are so many amazing bloggers who put a lot of effort into helping others and share really good techniques and advice and I wanted to capitalize on that but to effectively do so, I had to really accept that some of these bloggers might be lying so to not depend on any success story for my belief.

Also, I promised myself to not engage in anymore loser activity. What is loser activity? (1) Being a parasocial fan and tying my entire faith in the void to a freaking social media app and a random blogger who I didn't even know as well as (2) hating on lying bloggers. Yep, both of these are loser activities. The first one is self explanatory but for the second one, the only reason I was hating on lying bloggers is because I was more obsessed with drama than me entering the void and was putting my entire faith into tumblr which is something I should have never done. Energy flows where attentions goes. Was I scrolling Void Tumblr for motivation or to learn tips and techniques to enter the void or to engage in drama? I wanted to enter the void and engaging in drama only increased my doubts so I had to cut that all off once and for all and I've stuck to that since.

I did end up downloading tumblr again after a while but this time, the way I viewed tumblr was completely different. By building up my faith in the void through research and by removing void tumblr off the pedestal I previously had it on as well as reframing how I was going to utilize it, I was able to use tumblr in a more effective manner as well as overcome my doubts and eventually enter the void.

Identifying Triggers

So you might have been reading my personal journey and been like "why is this girl talking so much about tumblr?" Well, the reason is because tumblr was my trigger.

I remember watching this YouTube video that basically explained how almost everything that we do is a habit and our brain basically creates these habits to optimize our daily lives, including negative thought patterns. And our habits are triggered by something aka a trigger and then our brain basically creates a habit feedback loop, meaning whenever you come across that trigger, that habit will follow and if your habit is a negative thought pattern, you will spiral.

For me, the habit was a negative thought patterns of doubting the void and the trigger was tumblr and I would just spiral like crazy, doubting the void. I go really in depth to how I combatted my trigger above but I believe that everyone is different and I highly encourage you to sit down and really examine and understand yourself, identify your own trigger(s), and create a personalized plan for yourself because the thing is I can present all the evidence that the void is real to you but if you come across your trigger, you're just going to start doubting it again and it'll just be an endless loop until you actively combat it.

The best way to combat a trigger is to avoid it altogether, such as deleting tumblr in my case. However, sometimes people have triggers that aren't easily avoidable so it's really different for everyone and it's really up to you to plan it our for yourself because breaking habits is incredibly difficult so not only are you going to have to create a plan but the hardest part will be actually sticking to it but only by doing so will you be able to stop spiraling into doubt.

This section compiles a lot of the research I did [that I could still remember] that helped me overcome my doubts in the void, with some contributions from my lovely anons. I especially recommend the first 2 but keep going through all of them until you totally believe that the void state is real!

This ^ should be enough but if you're still curious, I would highly recommend browsing reddit and amino for void state success stories. You'll find a lot in shifting and ap (astral projection) communities as well as meditation communities! Browsing meditation communities is pretty beneficial as they don't really put pressure on themselves to enter the void so they end up entering it pretty easily and they have such good advice and shifting communities tend to have a lot of good motivation.

The Real Truth about Doubting the Void

To summarize, my opinion on how you overcome doubts in your void state journey is by removing/combatting triggers that are causing you to spiral and doing your own research and learning about the void so that you can understand that it's a very real thing, not just something that exists on tumblr or in the loa community.

But I want to let you in on a little secret. The truth is I doubted the void up until I actually entered it and manifested everything. Not the void state itself. After all that research, I knew the void state was real but in the very back of my mind I was like "but will it guarantee all my desires?" But honestly, the truth is no amount of success stories or proof will convince you fully other than you actually entering in yourself and manifesting whatever you want. So don't be so obsessed with doubting holding you back. Focus on entering the void and once you enter, you'll find out for yourself if it's real or not. I love and believe in you and I know you got this 💗

*disclaimer* these are notes from research i have done on the internet, and i myself am still learning. if you feel as if i have misinterpreted a certain type, or left something out, please let me know so i can further educate myself.

air witch: a witch that works with the element of air and the energies that it possesses. they work with things such as air elementals, incense, and rhythmic breathing.

animal witch: a witch that works with animals, or a specific form of animal, and uses that animals energies in their practice. these witches will also work with the spiritual and physical forms of that animal and use magick based around it.

atheist witch: a witch who does not believe in any form of deity.

baby/beginner witch: a witch who is new to the practice and isn’t too knowledgable on the craft yet.

bone witch: a witch who uses bones in their practice, and can communicate with the spirits who used to own them, to allow them help in their practice.

blue witch: a witch who practices healing forms of magick such as reiki, yoga, acupuncture, energy healing, and quantum touch.

blood witch: a witch who practices blood magick and uses the energy of blood in their practice.

ceremonial witch: a witch who practices ceremonial magick and theurgy. they are focused on the ritual of the craft and draw power from performing a ceremony that is meaningful.

closet witch: a witch who is not open about their practice.

cosmic witch: a witch who uses cosmic or astrological bodies in their craft. they work with the energies of stars, the moon, the sun, and planets. they also may connect with deities associated with the stars or formulate spells based on planets, the alignment of the stars, etc.

cottage/hearth witch: a witch who focuses on the home, their families, and making the place they live comfortable and protected. they are witches who specialize in magick surrounding the home.

chaos witch: a witch who quite literally draws power from chaos. they usually perform emotional, tumultuous magick, and their spells are fueled by energy that clashes. they often perform magick with intense music, during storms, after a fight with a friend or significant other, or even when they’re just feeling a bit crazy emotionally. they also can perform powerful spells after a chaotic event in the world occurs.

coven witch: a witch who is in a group of witches, coven, or circle, and will be able to learn and practice magick with others.

color witch: a witch who uses the metaphysical meaning of colors in their magick.

dark witch: a witch who tunes into the darker side of the craft. they prefer to take things into their own hands and can be known to use older, traditional ceremonies. they also normally practice shadow work and prefer to practice at night.

death witch: a witch who practices death magick and works with the energies of death.

divination witch: a witch who practices divination such as cartomancy, rune casting, scrying, pendulum, tasseomancy, palmistry, and numerology.

desert witch: a witch who works with things from a desert such as desert sand, cacti, bushes, and spirits of the desert. they may or may not live near one.

draconic witch: a witch who works with dragons and draconic magick.

dream witch: a witch who works on and in their dreams, and may practice lucid dreaming. they may cast magick in their dreams and may also be dreamwalkers. these witches use their dreamscape as a home away from home.

eclectic witch: a witch who has an eclectic practice. this means that they will work with and learn from many different paths, practices, philosophies, traditions, and sources. they don’t have any one set religion that they must adhere to.

elemental witch: a witch who works with all of the western classical elements. these elements being fire, water, earth, air, and spirit. some elemental witches also choose not to incorporate the element of spirit.

earth witch: a witch that works with the element of earth and the energy that it possesses. they work with things such as crystals, herbs, rocks, earth elementals, the spirit of the land, and other earth-based tools.

fire witch: a witch that works with the element of fire and the energies that it possesses. they work with things such as candle magick, fire elementals, bonfire rituals, and fire scrying, among other practices relating to fire.

forest witch: a witch who works with things from the forest such as the trees, the forest spirits, and forest animals. they may or may not live near one.

fae witch: a witch who works with fairies and fae magick. they love nature spirits, woodland creatures, and the fae, and they invite all of these elements into their practice.

green witch: a witch who uses nature-based things in their practice such as herbs, trees, stones, animals, and natural elements. they are very connected to the earth and draw their magick from nature and specifically from earthly elements.

garden witch: a witch who works with herbs and the earth, much like a green witch, but is focused on their garden and how they can incorporate it with their magick. this process is much like a home to a cottage witch.

gray witch: a witch who practices a neutral form of magick and uses a balance of both dark and light forms of magick.

hedge witch: a witch that uses magick that is oriented around the spiritual world. they practice things such as astral travel, astral projection, lucid dreaming, spirit work, and journeying. these witches are able to walk between worlds.

hereditary witch: a witch who gets their tradition passed down to them by their family, and they are born into the practices of witchcraft. they also usually have their family to practice with and to be there to help with development.

herbal witch: a witch that uses herbs in their practice. they will normally grow herbs and use them in many different ways in order to produce magickal effects such as burning them, turning them into tea, or sprinkling them around places.

kitchen witch: a witch who works with magick through cooking and uses the magickal properties of different foods.

lunar witch: a witch who works with the energies of the moon and the moon’s cycles. they usually charge their tools in the moonlight and perform their spells based on the phase of the moon.

pop culture witch: a witch who incorporates aspects of media in their practice such as things from movies, tv shows, books, and video games. they may also work with pop culture spirits and call upon them like traditional spirits.

purple witch: a witch who practices energy work, psychic abilities, and psionics.

religious witch: a witch who holds some form of religion. these include christian witches, satanic witches, pagan witches, wiccan witches, buddhist witches, muslim witches, jewish witches, hindu witches, along with any other type of religious witch.

red witch: a witch who practices love and sex magick.

sea witch: a witch who works with things from the sea such as seawater, sea glass, beach sand, seashells, and other tools associated with the sea. they may or may not live near it.

secular witch: a witch who is not religious and does not subscribe to a religious dogma. they believe in energy and work with energetic forces in witchcraft, but they do not pray to any kinds of gods or deities. a secular witch can certainly be spiritual in his/her own time, but their craft specifically works with energy that is unnamed and doesn’t have a personality.

solar witch: a witch who works with the energies of the sun. they usually benefit from charging their tools in the sunlight, and performing their magick at sunrise or sunset.

solitary witch: a witch who practices their craft alone or without a personal group such as a coven or circle of other practitioners.

spoonie witch: a witch that practices low-energy witchcraft due to a chronic illness, mental illness, disability, etc.

swamp witch: a witch who works with things from the swamp such as swamp water, the swamp spirits, and swamp animals. they may or may not live near one.

storm/weather witch: a witch who works with the weather and its energies in order to change it, receive energy, or achieve some other outcome. they may have a preference for a specific type of storm or enjoy chaotic weather energy in general, but will definitely feel more powerful when the energy is tumultuous. they also usually charge their tools during a storm and collect storm water, snow, etc. for use in spells.

stitch witch: a witch who works with thread, yarn, or other fibers for their work.

science witch: a witch who has a higher focus on science and will use their understandings of it in their practices. these witches usually do not portray scientism, and focus on a higher connection between science and their practice.

traditional witch: a witch who practices the forms of traditional witchcraft. they do a lot of research and take a historical approach to their magickal practice.

tech witch: a witch who works with modern technology in their practice, and will integrate computers and electronics with their magick.

tea witch: a witch who uses tea in their practice in order to facilitate certain effects through the act of drinking them.

theistic witch: a witch who believes in a form of deity.

water witch: a witch who works with the element of water and the energies that it possesses. they work with things such as the different kinds of water, water elementals, and water scrying, among other tools related to water.

white/light witch: a witch who practices benevolent forms of magick. they tend to gravitate towards more light deities and beings like angels.

i love how u work with the greek gods as well!! it’s disheartening because so many people shit on people who work with deities or etc :( i work with hecate and aphrodite and if anything they help me so much with the law. they’ve helped me with my self concept, mindset and hecate has helped me get into the void. i love how people think it’s contradicting because the gods are supposed to be above u but they’re actually more like mentors who help me lol and are actually happy that i practice the law

i know!! the loa community can be so weird when it comes to people with other beliefs... which is like... the literal antithesis to how the law works but whatever. and same! my work with the gods has helped my mindset so much. i know i wouldn't be where i am today without them. and that's not a bad thing! shifting specifically has helped my mental health a lot and apollo loves it when i get excited about my DRs. the people who shit on working with deities are people who are entirely uneducated about it. it's not a cute look 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hello! Thank you for answering again! The god that you speak of piques my interest highly. I don't mean to undermine his power or disrespect me, but he sounds quite human which is both comforting and sorrowful. He seems to be despairing but what words of comfort can I offer to a god? It's a futile attempt. Also,you spoke of two incidents where he tried to intervene. What might those two be? And what does he think of the Bible? Neville said that it was supposed to be a psychological drama. Forgive me if I'm out of line, but the Bible prescribes quite harsh punishments for some deeds( I hope you understand what I'm talking about). And who are these other eternal beings? Can he speak more on them? Does anyone know their origins?On another note, he seems to absolutely adore his children and I wish him hope and light( if that's any help at all). Eternity,after all, may not be so desirable.

He's actually not sad at all about not being born with meaning. He says that the concept that you're born for something is flawed and that we all just exist. Our existence itself is both meaningless and meaningful but as we exist, we get to decide what that meaning is with no factors of fate defining it. It's all about your choice to choose your meaning in life, he said

He has intervened a lot for many years apparently but there were two instances that just made him stop intervening in general. That'd be Noah of the Arc as well as Jesus. He thought that resetting all the progress would somehow redo all the mistakes but it hasn't exactly worked. At best, now all he does are minor interventions like telling me Im about to get pickpocketed. He doesnt do things on a global scale anymore mainly because it never gets the desired intent. He said he tells people what he means and most of the time, they either dont get it or dont go through with it. Its like him telling you to get the strawberry soda and you getting the orange soda or not getting a drink at all

He said that the bible has parts that were correct but overall mistranslated and misinterpreted over the years. To be fair, he does give a lot of his messages in very cryptic forms. Most of the time he doesnt directly give you answers to the questions you are asking but gives you riddles or cryptic messages to figure out the answer yourself. Problem with that is that a lot of people dont like the answer to their problems so they use a different one than the clear answer that was available to them. He gives you the tools to figure out the proper way to deal with something instead of directly dealing with it himself. He's like a mentor except most people dont follow him right or dont want to follow the path hes talking about

He said while some of the harsh punishments in the bible were said by him and are true, some of them arent. He says that that is in part to either accidental mistranslation or misinterpretation on purpose. He doesnt fully agree with telling people the punishments anymore because he says that, "if fear is the driving force as to why you would not do an immoral action, then how are you sure you would make the same decision without that fear? Are you truly a good person or are you afraid of being a bad one?". He knows people have same capacity to do good as well as to do bad so he wants to see what they'd do if they dont know someone is watching or what to look out for

> He said the morality of your actions should not be dictated on the premise of entering heaven or hell based on these actions. He says its already difficult to do the moral thing in the current world so its both about doing an action and your intent behind it. He judges your intent and your impact separately. He doesnt have a harsh blanket punishment and he believes more in rehabilitation than punishment, tho he isnt above punishing certain actions depending on impact/intent

the other eternal beings would be other higher spiritual beings. these include deities, spirits, other gods, angels, demons, etc. he said theres quite a lot of them but they dont all interact. he says he saw some of them born so he does know some higher beings origins but he doesn't know his own

he says forever is a long time but it isnt sad because he doesnt really notice. as long as he focuses on things that exist now, he never worries about the things tomorrow or yesterday. its always about being in the present for him that he doesnt notice the years go by and so he isnt stressed about it. he says the concept of infinity is scarier to all those who believe they are finite and that (this advice can go to anyone) to simply cherish existing. "You exist and that is enough reason to celebrate"

He also said he hopes you have a nice day and that you should remember to take care of yourself today (and your family as well)
