The fact that obimaul isn't a more popular ship makes me crazy. How do more people not see it.
They're narrative foils. Maul survives a killing blow because the thought of Kenobi kept him alive, and what is obsession but a mirror of devotion? Obi-Wan is the master of defense and Maul is the master of offense. Obi-Wan's first and last kill of his life is Maul. The trajectory of their lives is extraordinary similar until the Same Duel sends them shooting off into opposite directions and defines them both for decades. A duel that teaches Obi-Wan the feeling of revenge that will haunt Maul the rest of his life. Obi-Wan was the apprentice who was never wanted. Maul was wanted too much. Obi-Wan overcame his trauma, but Maul never could. Both rebellious by nature, forced into the mold of the Perfect Example of their respective orders, and yet they have the same failing - Maul, desperate for companionship from ANYBODY, and Obi-Wan who struggles with his attachment to the people he loves. Both forced into exile by the same man who destroyed their lives and orders. They've hurt each other in unimaginable ways and yet understand each other like no one else can.
"The only one allowed to kill you is me" but isnt that just another way of asking live for me? Who is your rival but your purpose? Is there not a tenderness in the eyes of your worst enemy who has seen you at your absolute lowest and still needs you to get back up? Because without you, what are they?
Just discussed Star Wars with a friend who has never watched the German dub, but since we were speaking German they didn't want to switch languages so they just very confidently called Sidious "Kaiser Palpatine"
Got inspired, made something, hope you enjoy.
Pretty accurate if I do say so myself.
If I go to office hours and the professor isn't there, I take that as a sign from the universe to never talk to them again
rex stood like a slut and had one line of dialogue but he slayed the house down
Reading a fic where Waxer's facial hair is called a "soul patch" and then wondering at the history of the word
In English, the name comes from jazz/soul musicians. Supposedly, they often wore it because it was more comfortable to play instruments like the trumpet when the skin there wasn't irritated by shaving or covering in stubble
Which implies that in the gffa this type of facial hair would be called
(Sorry-not-sorry for saying this)
A "jizz patch"
A gender? *Glances around, reaches into trenchcoat* yeah I think I have one of those. But it's gonna cost ya
"The Jedi gatekept the Force"
Oh, are you from the Path of the Open Hand? You know, the evil anti-Jedi cult?? Cuz that's what u sound like
"The Jedi gatekept the Force!"
Ah yes. That's why they coexisted very peaceably with the Baran Do sages, the Bardottan Dagoyan Masters, the Guardians of the Whills, the Church of the Force, the Lasat, the Mirialens, and hell even the Nightsisters.
......I'm not actually sure you know what gatekeeping means.
he consumes my every waking thought and most of the sleeping ones too
