My Design For Justine Moritz From The Novel Frankenstein By Mary Shelley ♥

My design for Justine Moritz from the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley ♥

It was very interesting researching what working women wore in the 18th century and I ended up having so much fun designing her! :) (And then redesigning her a few dozen times too!! XD )

I hope you like my little drawing of her :)

Show of hands, who else loves the original novel Frankenstein, and yet somehow has never watched the 1931 movie with Boris Karloff.

I can’t be the only one, can I?

Victor Frankenstein And Henry Clerval With Their Hair Down, To Show Off Those Beautiful Long 18th Century

Victor Frankenstein and Henry Clerval with their hair down, to show off those beautiful long 18th century locks! ♥

(Also this is pretty much how I imagined their height difference too)

Henry Clerval is part Hobbit. You can't change my mind.

My Design(s) For Elizabeth Lavenza From Mary Shelley's Novel "Frankenstein" ❤️
My Design(s) For Elizabeth Lavenza From Mary Shelley's Novel "Frankenstein" ❤️

My design(s) for Elizabeth Lavenza from Mary Shelley's novel "Frankenstein" ❤️

In the 1818 version she is described as having dark auburn hair and hazel eyes and in the 1831 revised version she is described with golden hair and blue eyes, so I thought I'd draw both :)

Also I tried to dress her authentically so I hope you're proud of me because 1780s to 1790s women's fashion is very confusing XD

My Own Take On A Design For Victor Frankenstein From Mary Shelley's Novel Frankenstein; Or, The Modern

My own take on a design for Victor Frankenstein from Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.

(Specifically this is meant to be Victor around the time he was studying at the university of Ingolstadt.) I feel I should specify this is based almost exclusively on his character in the book, so not an AU and also not drawn for any other reason than to try and appease my slightly obsessing mind XD This isn’t necessarily his finalised design, but for this little project I thought it would be fun to share my character designs with you all as I draw them :)

I have also drawn designs for some of the other characters already, so expect more Frankenstein drawings in the near future my dears ♥

Walton: * patiently listens to Frankenstein's account of his supposed monster *

Frankenstein: * eagerly expects a response *

Walton: ...

Ye dumb?

Frankenstein: ...what?

Walton: You could have just presented him with a dog or a cat or any kind of pet of his choosing and avoided all that!

Frankenstein: ...oh ye.

Day 26 - Electric

Day 26 - Electric

You might've noticed this monstober series hasn't had any humans of any kind. One can only imagine how Frankenstein's monster looks in a world like that…

To be honest I’m kind of too deep into the musical to give an unbiased opinion because now all I can hear is his voice from Frankenstein: a New Musical. But I do like the idea of him being able to go into a soft more meek voice from time to time depending on the situation!

Hello hello, I'm curious what the creechur sounds like? Also I love your art, its satisfying to the eye :)

Thank you! I’ve been debating myself on whether he should have a normal, almost soft, voice or have a monstrously deep one. Or be able to switch between the two, having a big range.

If you all had to give him a voice, what would it be?

Thought About A Frankenstein AU

Because I’ve had the book on the brain since I started working on some writing projects, how about this?

Admittedly I might be remembering the book a little weird, but from what I remember, the creature had no idea who he’d run into until William Frankenstein actually said who he was related to (the musical implies that the creature had known exactly who he was looking at and planned it like that), the murder of William being partially an in the moment type of a move though it turns into some Chessmaster-type finagling when the creature plants a locket that William had on Justine, framing her for the murder of William.

So, my thought is this. Whether it’s premeditated or not the creature goes into the woods, finds William, and gets confirmation of the kid’s connection to Victor. However, before the murder can actually happen, the kid finds out that his older brother made the creature…and instead of being freaked out, William asks if that means he’s the creature’s uncle.

This throws off the whole murderery vibe the creature’s got going on, and he ends up answering out of pure surprise that, well, yes, that would be correct.

William thinks this is awesome and now it’s kind of like the middle of the Iron Giant but the Giant is actually more mature than Hogarth and with a bit of a chip on his shoulder though they still pal around and get into shenanigans together.

The creature has no idea how this happened and while there’s a part of him that kind of expects this to be short-lived he can’t help but indulge this kid that definitely knows what he looks like but somehow just…likes him anyway? It’s all strange but maybe this is better than the whole murder idea.
