Update on PPt OC

I’m going to start working on my ‘ex-worker’ OC, but I’m going to display him in a different kind of format. Mainly through found documents & items, & even written out ‘commercials/broadcast’.

I’m still trying to figure out the style to draw these characters in, I like the cartoon style but the ‘realistic’ style works better for darker themes. I’ll probably bounce between the 2.

I’m also planning on making a second account just for Poppy Playtime OCs, still thinking of a name though. I’ll be moving all of my ppt art to that account once it’s been created.

Anyway, I’ll give the basic background about this character:

The main premise is that he is a parent of one of the orphans in Playcare. Basically his wife took the child there without him knowing until it was too late.

After some unfavorable actions, he got a job at Playtime Co to find his child. However, he got fired & even jailed due to some violent behavior.

He just got released, & under a new identity, he comes back to the now dilapidated factory with the delusion that his child is still there somewhere.

His name is Martin Redd, but that’s not his true name. That will revealed in due time.

By the way, this guy is like in his early 50s during chapters 1-4, so you can imagine what traversing through the factory is like for him.

I’ll reveal more of his character through future posts. But to simplify him as much as possible: he’s a loving father with good intentions, but makes incredibly bad life decisions.

Should I do some character backstory for these 2, like who they were before? I already have something in mind for Mary.

Also should I start on making one of the ex-worker OCs that I mentioned in the past, mainly Samuel?

“LIAR-LIER”

Text in Photo: Liar-Lier is exactly as his namesake, a liar that tells tall tales and waits for the results. Whenever he’s feeling bored, he’ll spread “little white lies” to stir up some drama between his friends. Though this does lead to some…violent outcomes.

Liar-Lier is the counterpart to Mary Little & was released during the same year has her.

He’s close friends with Baby Rabie, who will share the lastest gossip, which Liar will then exaggerate or “sprinkle some pizzazz” to make them more interesting. He loves starting drama between the Smiling Critters, & sometimes with his own “friends”, which usually end with him getting pummeled.

I gave him a lazy eye, for whatever reason whenever I make an opossum character, I like to give them a lazy eye.

Fun fact: Ambergris is a waxy substance produced within sperm whales. Its smell is described as a musky & earthly scent with hints of tobacco, sandalwood & marine; though it can also smell similar to fecal. It’s also illegal to trade or have in possession in the United States.

For her body, I used mainly Simon’s head & torso, & Bobby’s leg. The rest were free handed.

Skunky was recalled due to the intensity of her scent, & some were even feeling sick after being in prolonged contact with her plushie.

But it’s not her fault.

As stated in the poll, Mary is essentially a limited time toy to celebrate the 3rd Year anniversary of the Smiling Critters.

While sharing a similar appearance to the Smiling Critters, her plush has a few add-ons:

Her hooves & inner ears are covered in sequins, and she has visible eyelashes. If you squeeze her torso, Mary will talk & sing nursery rhymes. She even comes with her very own book.

For her body, I mainly used different parts of Craftycorn & some bits from Bubba.

Also I was having a hard time figuring out the difference between a German Chamomile flower & a Roman Chamomile flower.

Mary may have ties to another character(s).

Meet a new addition to the Smiling Critters: SLEEPY SHEEPY

Text in Photo: Sleepy Sheepy is a calm, yet wise critter; soft-spoken and will happily give helpful advice to any of their friends. Their best advice? To get a good night’s rest. After all, you can’t have a fun filled day if you can barely keep your eyes open.

I’m gonna be doing each character in 3 different styles: the cartoon depiction, the Bigger Body depiction, & one where I basically do an overly detailed redesign because why not.

I’m not gonna lie, in order to get the proportions & style right, I used a technique I saw on YouTube where you basically use different body parts of the critters to create a character.

I also tried to use font that looked similar, but I couldn’t find one that was exactly the same, so sorry if the fonts weird.

I used Bobby’s torso, Bubba’s left arm, Craftycorn’s legs, & Baba’s right arm & head. The wool, face ears, horns, tail, & pendant I freestyle.

I really like how Sleepy turned out and I can’t wait to do the rest, especially the bigger body versions cause I like taking cute things and make them scary.

Also I know the poll isn’t over yet, but I originally wanted it to be open for a few days, not a whole week. Based off the results so far, it seems that I’ll be doing Mary Little next.

Smiling/Nightmare Critter OCs

I’ve decided that I’ll draw some of the Smiling/Nightmare Critter OCs in my free time, along with them interacting with the other Smiling/Nightmare Critters.

I’ll list the characters’ names in the poll below, with descriptions of each character below the poll.

Sleepy Sheepy

Sleepy was a simply a rough draft concept to replace Catnap after the scandal, but was scrapped shortly after.

Their base design was then used to create Baba Chops, by inverting the colors & changing the scent.

Their appearance was a sheep with thick white wool & black limbs, along with tan hooves & horns. They wore a cloud shaped pendant with 3 Zs in it, & would’ve had German Chamomile as their scent.

Their personality wasn’t completely developed yet, but was said to have a drowsy demeanor but was a good listener & would’ve given good advice to the Smiling Critters.

Mary Little

Mary was created from the scrapped concept of Sleepy, & was a 1991 limited edition toy to celebrate the 3-year anniversary of the Smiling Critters.

Her appearance is a lamb with short white wool & limbs, & black hooves. She wears a bell shaped pendant, & has Roman Chamomile as her scent.

Her personality is described has innocent, overly curious, & a bit naive & gullible. She views everyone has her friend & wants everyone to get along.

She’ll often try to invite the Nightmare Critters to join in the Smiling Critters’ games to feel included, but this would lead to some disagreements & tension between the Smiling/Nightmare Critters.

Skunky Funk

Skunky was a scrapped/recalled toy that was created for the Nightmare Critters toy line. She would’ve been a counterpart to Sleepy.

Her appearance is a skunk with dark blue-violet fur with white stripes. She wore a housefly shaped pendant, & has Ambergris as her scent.

Her scent was actually the reason for her being recalled, complained that it was too pungent & smelled “gross”.

Her personality is described has moody, reserved & snippy. She prefers to be alone, secretly worried that the other Nightmare Critters don’t like her. She’s very condescending towards others & very self-deprecating towards herself.

Liar-Lier

Liar-Lier was created as a counterpart for Mary Little, & was released shortly after Mary as a limited edition toy as well.

His appearance is an opossum with dark brown fur, cream face & belly fur, & peach hand, feet & tail. He wears a crossed finger shaped pendant, & has Patchouli as his scent.

He’s personality is described to be mischievous, sarcastic, & a bit of a prankster. He’s known to lie a lot to cause fights between both the Smiling Critters & even the Nightmare Critters. He loves drama.

He’s close friends with Rabie Baby, who tells him the latest gossip which he’ll then exaggerate to start fights. If he’s caught, he’ll “play dead” to startle & freak out the Smiling Critters, this trick doesn’t that well with most of the other Nightmare Critters.

Poppy Playtime OCs Because Why Not (This is just more for fun)

After watching the play through of Chapter 4 & seeing the amount of fanart (both canon & OCs), I thought it would be fun to come up with some possible concepts for some OCs.

Might draw them, might not, I’m not sure yet.

Anyway below are the concepts:

Toys

Smiling/Nightmare Critter

After the scandal & recall of the Catnap Plushies, Playtime Co tried to create a new character to take Catnap’s place in the Smiling Critters Cast. Wanting to keep the same theme of “a good night’s sleep”, Playtime Co decided to base the design off the concept of “counting sheep”.

The character would be a sheep with white wool & black limbs, & wears a cloud shaped pendant with “Zs” in it or a pillow shaped pendant. They also had a chamomile scent.

They would have been named “Sleepy Sheepy”. However, it never made past the review period due to timing & negative ties to Catnap who both are associated with sleep, & fear that another scandal could occur from this.

This design was then used to create “Baba Chops”: inverted the colors, & changed their personality & along with changing their scent to Anise; who is part of a new line of characters called the Nightmare Critters.

Due to a “special request” from an anonymous source, the concept of Sleepy was altered. The character was changed to be a white lamb wearing a bell shaped pendant, but still kept the chamomile scent.

The character was named “Mary Little” & was used as a limited edition toy to celebrate their 3 year anniversary. They also made a special appearance in the cartoon for the same reason.

Their personality was described to be very curious & a bit naive. They wanted to be friends with everyone & for everyone to feel included. They would’ve act as a peacemaker or negotiator between the Smiling Critters & Nightmare Critters. In the show, they only had one major appearance & would then only appear a couple of times afterwards before the cartoon was discontinued.

Due to them being a limited edition toy, there was only a handful of them produced & was only available during the year 1991. A Bigger Body was never created due to the same reasons above, but there were plans of one if the Catnap Bigger Body became “uncooperative”.

The living toy experiments were also conducted on the plushies as well, but were less in number. After the Hour of Joy, most of the plushies were killed & eaten, with the exception of those that followed Catnap. There was also just one that took refuge in Safe Haven.

Humans

Past Employee: Mary Sawyer

Mary was the daughter of Harley Sawyer. Wanting to grow closer to her father, she tried to gain an internship at Playtime Co.

After seeing her potential, Dr. Sawyer put in a request, & pulled some strings, to give her permission to work with him on the living toys experiments & the Bigger Body Initiative.

However, after seeing the experiments & treatment of the toys, Mary was horrified & wanted to leave. But due to fear of being “taken care of”, she continued to work alongside Dr. Sawyer to secretly gather evidence.

During the Hour of Joy, Mary was out doing an “errand” for the other scientists. When she came back, she saw the aftermath & fled immediately.

10 years later, she returns back to Playtime Co to figure out what happened & to see what happened to the toy & BBI experiments.

Mary was the daughter of Harley Sawyer. When she was younger, she was often brought to Playtime Co with her father & was used to test the experiments’ reaction to children.

The toys were quite fond of Mary due to her kind-hearted nature & gentle approach. She was often around the Nightmare Critters, who were very affectionate & friendly towards her after she would give them snacks.

After Dr. Sawyer was turned into the Doctor, Mary was sent to live with other relatives & hasn’t been back to Playing Co since.

She would constantly ask about her father & “friends”, but many of the relatives would just change the subject or say they didn’t know what she was talking about. This caused Mary to doubt her memory & the time she was at Playtime Co.

10 years after the Hour of Joy, Mary would run away from her home & return to Playtime Co to find her father & “friends”. However, she only found a factory filled with starved toys & notes written on vhs tapes.

Past Employee: Samuel Barnes

Samuel was the older brother of Kevin Barnes. They were separated, with Sam going to live with his parents while Kevin was sent to the orphanage due to his “behavior”. He was sent to the orphanage at a very young age, so he doesn’t remember Samuel that well.

His family would deny the existence of Kevin whenever Samuel would ask about him. It wasn’t until he turned 18 when he found out the truth.

Enraged by his parents’ actions & concerned for his brother’s safety, would go to Playtime Co to find him, but was denied access to the orphanage.

After creating a fake identity, Samuel would apply for a job to work at Playtime Co. Mainly to gather information & find Kevin, while also needing a job in general.

However, after being caught multiple times trying to look through classified documents, he was fired & banned from the facility. He was then arrested & imprisoned for trespassing & aggravated assault about a couple days after being fired.

10 years later, it’s unknown if he escaped prison or was released early for good behavior, he went back to Playtime Co for closure. But was met with an empty factory filled with starved toys & eaten corpses.

These are just a few ideas for concept ideas for possible OCs, I would like hear what you guys think, & if you all like them then I might make art of them.

It’s not pictured here, but she carries a massive war hammer as her weapon of choice. I decided to give her a more “knightly” appearance rather than a “princess-y” appearance similar to her first design.

Also in regards to all of the Neue variants, I gonna add some gender-specific biological differences to their appearances.

Example:

-Males will have larger & thicker horns, long ears & thicker tails.

-Females will have smaller & thinner horns, longer ears & thinner tails, along with a permanent “ecto-body” for the upper torso to form the chest.

-Non-binary will have traits that are in between both of these.

I saw a post made by @bee-ina-boat for making an Euclydian OC, and wanted to try it out.

I ended making 4 different ones by taking my first answers and use the opposite of them, then picked the median for the both of them and then do the opposite of that. A little confusing but you’ll see what I mean.

Anyway, here’s all 4 OCs (names TBD):

The rectangle one was made by my first answers. Aprons make me think of bakers, so I made this one a baker, which with their multiple arms, would make baking a piece of cake. The personality trait I got was edgy, but I didn’t know how to incorporate that. I imagine they would bake cynical cookies that would say something like “I you stub your toe multiple times today”.

The octagon one was made by the opposite of my first answers. I got the personality trait professional, but got headphones as the accessory. This got me thinking that they could be a really good DJ or Music Producer. I also got extra fingers, so even though I gave the others 4 fingers, I gave this one 6 to make them more obvious.

The trapezoid one was made by finding the median of the first & opposite answers. With the closed eye, curious personality & big boots, I wanted to make a character that was blissfully unaware. They almost have a child-innocence to them, completely unaware of the cosmic horrors around them.

The oval one was made by the opposite of the median answers. The yellow coloring & bowler hat made me think that they could be a rip-off of a rip-off Bill Cipher. They’re a door-to-door salesperson offering questionable items & deals, but is more mischievous than sadistic. A full “live audience” soundtrack follows them everywhere like a sitcom.

I tried to do complementary colors for the accessories to keep them simple.

I don’t have any names for them yet, so feel free to comment your own names & headcanons.

AU Neue OCs Update

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, I got sick for a week then just felt no motivation to draw or what to draw.

So I figured something to help out with this is to redesign the Neue AU variants mainly adjusting colors, clothing & general body shape while adding some story elements for you all to read about them.

Right now, I’m currently trying to pick color palettes for each variant. Basing the colors off the different goat breeds while adding some other colors to prevent them from looking too bland. I’m also changing/adding a few of the characters.

Serious question:

What is the term called when you find certain “members” of different “teams” super attractive & think that they would be a good partner in a romantic or sexual relationship. But you have no desire to be in said relationship neither romantic or sexual.

I’m still trying to figure out everything in the LGBTQ+ community (grew up in a very “religious” household if you catch my drift). So I’m very late to learning about the community & trying to figure myself out, & also create characters that correctly represent these different orientations & terminology.

So if this comes off as offensive to anyone, again still trying to learn & will gladly take any criticism to correct myself.

Dusttale: Revived | Monster Kid Design Concept

Here is the design concept for Monster Kid or “MK”.

I added a height chart of Vani & Sans for comparison.

For context:

MK was dusted during the events of NPHRA (based off the wound, most likely by the human).

They were revived by Vani & became her assistant, albeit not a good one.

Vani & MK grew up together & were close friends.

As for why MK is half gray, I’ll let guys figure it out.

I drew 3: one showing their current design, one showing how they looked before (for Vani, it’s after the events of Dusttale, but it’s before the current design), & one showing off their body (sorry if the bodies look weird, skeletons are hard to draw).

For context: Vani is 5ft 7in, while Sans is 4ft 10in.

Dusttale: Revived | Character Concepts Pt.4

Here are my takes on the Gaster’s Followers.

They will play an interesting part in the story, along with an explanation for why they look & act the way they do. I’ll probably explain their backstory more when I post the “promo” art featuring them & a few others.

I want to give them other names besides “Gaster’s Follower 1, 2 &3”; I have a few ideas that I’ll be playing around with.

All 3 work alongside Dr. Serif, usually at least one of them is always by her side.

While their souls are still there, their vessels are no longer theirs to control. Their body, their smiles, their voices belong to him now.

Regarding their designs I’ll explain the following:

Follower 1 has a similar appearance to the Ficus Licker in the MTT Hotel. They always kind of looked like a gingerbread man, but I decided to give them a more alien-like appearance, who also looks starved or malnourished. Also their left arm got ripped off & absorbed by Subject BV1.2-004.09.

Follower 2 has a similar appearance to the scared donut guy in Hotland. I’ve seen many people draw them as a cat so I decided to do the same, specifically a bobcat or a bob-tailed cat. I decided to represent the face in their hand as a face in a mirror, while their head has a big smile. While all 3 are connected in a hive mind manner, this Follower acts like the main host or leader of the group.

Follower 3, while at first glance looks like a giant scary face, they have a similar silhouette to the stripped bird in Deltarune. I didn’t based them off a specific bird, but I did want to give them feathered legs & feet like some breeds of chickens. Also their neck can stretch to great lengths, like the Rokurokubi.

Upcoming Art Projects for Dusttale: Revived

This is more of a list of art projects I want to do for this AU, and get feedback from guys or even suggestions on what I can do better based off the past few slides.

This is the first time in a while that I’m actually excited for a big project.

Basically what I did with Asgore’s piece. Draw certain characters in certain scenes or situations that go along with the story or to showcase what they look like.

Character sheets…To see what they look like, simple as that.

Comic/Written Story

I’ll probably write the actual story first & then make a comic off it, or I might just say “screw it, I’m gonna do the comic first & hate my past self when I have to base the story around whatever I drew”. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

Multiverse Interactions

Yes I’ll be including other universes interacting or just observing this AU; it’s mainly gonna be the Bad & Star Sanses, but I might include a few others as non-canon interactions for fun.

Ask Blog (Maybe)

If this gets popular enough or I get a lot of questions, I might do an ask blog that the characters will answer or just be in some funny shenanigans.
