Me: Alright. We’re gonna go to Target, pick up what we need and leave. Absolutely no distractions.
Me upon walking by the electronics: BIG MAN!!!!!!!
Okay, it’s definitely just the way Riruka’s hair is styled but everytime I’ve seen this art of her I think of Hina Chono from Blue Box.
I tried to find a screenshot from the fireworks festival episode since she wears a kimono in that one but had no such luck.

We have a face! Yay! Only seven bags left to go.
Well, it took four and a half years but I finally caught COVID. It’s just mild symptoms but I’ll still need to isolate for about a week. Hopefully it’ll pass pretty quickly. In the meantime, let’s look at the positives. I’ve got a backlog of games and anime to work through so that’ll be fun.
My personal headcanon for Ash Ketchum has always been that regardless of if his dream ever came true he'd never truly stop traveling and learning. Because despite "becoming a pokemon master" being his goal if you actually sit down and watch like Any episode of Pokemon the thing that always holds true is his curiosity and desire to learn everything he possibly can related to pokemon. And he'll try anything to! He did contests and the battle frontier. He'd do those silly little shows with Serena if they'd let him.
So I like to imagine him continuing on in life as this nomad who people don't automatically recognize as anyone important ya know? Just this goofy guy going from place to place always lending a helping hand and hes got a cute lil pikachu on him. And hes often lost somewhere with a friend just exploring the woods to see if he'll find anything cool. Ya know, as hes always been, but older now. And its only once hes drifted once more do you maybe stumble into an article on the pokeweb about him and are like... that guy??

Anyway, that’s my list! I will update if I watch anything else! Happy New Year!!
Thank you for making such a charming and fun game! I had a great time!
Last week, Nintendo had an Indie World Showcase. It's like a Direct but primarily for indie games from developers all around the world. A lot of cool games were shown (Have a Nice Death, Pepper Grinder, and Oni, to name a few) but the one that really grabbed my attention was this weird looking game that was released on the same day. Once Upon a Jester. It's about these two friends, Sok and Jester, and their quest to win a chance to perform at the kingdom's Royal Theatrical Spectacle. This, however, is a ruse so they can steal the Royal Diamond! A game where two idiots perform improv theatre so they can steal a big jewel? Sign me up!
The game itself was really fun! The developers, Bonte Avond, recorded most of the dialogue in one take. It definitely shows. But this is by no means a criticism. In fact, the way the dialogue is recorded makes the improv in the game feel much more authentic. Plus it's really funny to see what they came up with. The gameplay is pretty simple, with the player needing to complete quicktime events during the performance to get a good score. The main goal with each performance is to get 5 bouquets from the audience, with a total of fifteen in each town you perform in. If can't get five in one performance, no worries. You can keep trying as long as you need. The plot isn't going anywhere. Also, since the developers are primarily musicians, the music slaps. As someone who spent all of high school and college doing theatre, I can't recommend this game enough.
This isn't so much a review as much me wanting to talk about this really charming game. If you have a Switch or Steam and an appreciation for theatre, then Once Upon a Jester may be for you.
Oh, also Corpse Husband has a cameo in the game. It's hilarious.
I finished the stand last night and have started work on the torso. I probably won’t be able to finish this until next week because of holiday stuff but that’s okay. Very excited to see the finished product.
Doctor: $140,000 a year
Furry artist on Patreon: $160,000 a year
It’s a bit smaller this time but that’s okay. I’m gonna try and catch up on all the dubs I want to watch.
Continuing series from the previous season:
That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime Season 3 (Crunchyroll)
Mission: Yozakura Family (Hulu)
Spice & Wolf: The Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf (Crunchyroll) (Started watching this in the middle of the previous season and forgot to add it to my previous watchlist post.)
New shows for this season:
Red Cat Ramen or Ramen Akaneko (Crunchyroll)
My Deer Friend Nokotan (Crunchyroll) (Favorite of the season)
The Elusive Samurai (Crunchyroll)
Other anime I’ve been watching:
Daily Lives of High School Boys (Crunchyroll) (Just finished. It was very stupid and funny.)
The Apothecary Diaries (Crunchyroll)
And will this be the season my wife and I finally finish Summer Time Rendering?!? Maybe! Once we finish Apothecary Diaries.
I will try to update this if we add any shows to our list. I won’t include any of the dubs I’m gonna check out because that should be it’s own post.
