Thinkin 'bout different sabre AUs
If you don’t know, young horses will make a clacking noise that is supposed to tell other horses that “I’m a baby, I’m not dominant” basically. So imagine like, someone pops up out of nowhere and they’re older and more powerful than them so they just start clacking.
Quick rant about Centaur Fae while AO3 is down.
Centaur Fae originated during the first human vs Fae war in which the fae and beastmen who were allied had slept together. From those partnerships came a sleuth of animal-like fae, most looking distinctly equine due to a majority of the beastmen warriors were equine as they had the most stamina for the long travel and missions. After the war was over and the children had grown they were ostracised by both fae and beastmen and so couple with each other, staying to themselves for the future until they couldn’t, in which they joined the fae as their own sub-species.
Centaur Yuu I imagine would be quite young in horse years, probably with the maturity of a yearling or two year old. I see their horse half looking like that of maybe a Friesian or similar.
Yuu kicking leona and then running away has me laughing though, like:
Leona: what herbivore
Yuu: *preditor, run quick!* ah!
Leona: ow! What the hell!?
Yuu: *to busy running back to the other to notice anything he said*
Have a quick doodle of a centaur fae child that I did at 3 in the morning while I’ll. it’s not that good and looks kinda childish lol but you get the concept. I imagine they started off as a mix of beastman and fae blood and became there own species
Made this about five months ago I was inspired by one of the many movies I loved as a kid and that would be spirit stallion of the cimmaron herd I was listening to the music and songs from it and started drawing. (Disclaimer on the song and/or music they belong to their rightful owner I also don't own this video it belongs to it's rightful owner as well)
I love this character it was such a blast to design them with @catmintrose and I had such an awesome time modeling, texturing and animating them in blender I can't wait for art fight next year this year was so much fun thank you @catmintrose for letting me attack you
I dunno how horse anatomy works 😭
FRESHLY BAKED TAURS
get em while they're fresh!
Don’t forget - Draw a Centaur Day is coming up in less than two weeks!
And if you don’t draw, you could always sculpt, sew, knit, crochet, write a story or poem, compose a song, make a gingerbread centaur - whatever!

My dear little dear

Finally made a boo for my element swap au Fluttershy! The minotaur/centaur hybrid; Prairie Confidence!
Prairie Confidence runs a circus that comes to Ponyville one day and “challenges” Rarity for her entertainment spot; giving Rarity's rainbow item instead of Coco Pommel. She playfully flirts with the shy mare in the audience when she's announcing an act. It was just supposed to be playful banter. But, after the show, she started sending letters to Rarity and, eventually, the cute pegasus she flirted with. Fluttershy eventually starts getting secret admirer letters. She thinks it's all a joke. As, who could adore the grim mare who lives in a graveyard and buries bunnies? This all comes to a head when Prairie returns to Ponyville to admit her crush and finds Fluttershy angry at the letters. Who dare play with her heart like this? Shenanigans ensue. But, eventually, the two figure things out (thanks to Discord and the Cutie Mark Crusaders) and start to date.
Prairie Confidence is a very boisterous, loud woman. She loves to entertain and draw attention to herself, and make ponies smile. It's better than them staring in horror at her oddity. Her talent is showmanship.
My homebrew Centaur/Aurorors Hybrid character for DnD. She's gonna be a Soul Stitcher Necroficer which I'm excited to play!
@dm-clockwork-dragon credit to them for the Auroros and the Necroficer pdf's I got! I love them so much!

Some commissions i made!! Soon i will make an a price list 😇
I'm just gonna have this as helpful notes- I would love to draw taurs-
SHAKES YOU how do you draw taurs. i need help i genuinley cant wrap my head around the anatomy of it. optionally i need help with fat taurs but any kind of taur is okay
Ooh, I love these sorta questions!!!
So there are two main things folks usually struggle with when it comes to drawing taurs as a whole. 1, they struggle with quadrupedal anatomy and 2. connecting the humanoid upper body to the quadrupedal lower body. Obviously there's no shame in either of these things, drawing four legged animals, especially if you're more used to the anatomical structure of something more humanoid is quite tough! And finding the sweet spot where humanoid and quadruped meet to make a taur is a bit of a struggle for folks who're still figuring it out.
So! The first thing you wanna do really is just familiarize yourself with quadrupedal anatomy. Look at the skeleton of the creature you're trying to taur and see how things like their limbs bend differently or how they're just differently naturally posed as compared to someone who walks upright.
This is a very simplified skeleton of a cat, but you can pretty immediately see how differently everything bends. And I'm not saying it's something you have to perfectly master to know how to draw a taur (especially when you get to drawing fat taurs), but i highly recommend becoming familiar with how a quadrupedal body is structured, the silhouette of most animals is quite misleading! And absolutely use reference!
Heck, our first go at drawing taur Riley was super heavily referenced (I'll even share the ref image if anyone is interested!), and this still came out real jank. Practice makes perfect!
As for connecting the upper body to the lower body, this is a little more subjective and up to you, but I'll lay out some general guidelines.
Generally speaking, you wanna put the humanoid torso where the base of the neck is, the front of the torso kinda merging with the rest of the taur body just after the tummy, basically just before the crotch starts.
As for the back, you're gonna want to shoot for just shy of where the butt starts, waist having curved back outwards. It gets a little awkward if you go higher or lower than that. And obviously, you wanna make sure the torso is firmly planted in the center of where the neck should be, ehehe.
That's pretty much the basics though! As always, i recommend looking at how your favorite taur artists draw the creatures and studying off of that! Familiarize yourself with quadrupedal anatomy, and use reference!! You will absolutely get it down with time. I will absolutely cover fat taurs if there's interest in it, and ofc, lemme know if there's anything I missed or need to go over! I hope this helps!
[Image Description: A drawing of a tan centaur galloping to the right. The centaur has a long brown tail, brown hair tied in a ponytail, and stubble. They are wearing a pink shirt with a unicorn on it and a white and gold scarf around their human waist. In the top right corner is a small colored sketch of the centaur from the front. End of Description.]
Decided to take a stab at drawing my favorite little centaur, Chet, from one of my favorite graphic fiction series, Moonstruck. The artwork is top notch, the characters are such a delight, and its specific take on the urban fantasy setting is so fun and probably my favorite variation. Go read it if you’re in the mood for some lighthearted queer romance or fantasy.
Since, DeviantArt is just as terrible of an art market as ever, I’m putting these guys up for sale here as well.

I AM FIG COOKIE’S NUMBER ONE FAN. ALL THE HATERS CAN CATCH THESE HANDS.
Bonus:
centaur: hold it right there, you can't just ride through my fields uncontested! I'll lose my credibility if we don't battle or something
confounder: that's fair. how about we-
centaur: and it can't be a pun battle. I heard what you did to the sphynx
confounder: darn. okay, what if I beat you in a horse race?
centaur: Ha! Alright, where's the finish line?
confounder: That tree over there. Where's your horse?
centaur: let me just call him
confounder: you're not a horse, this is a wait what
centaur: SVENTAL! HERE BOY!
*massive six-legged, four-eyed horse gallops around the bend wearing a saddle made for a centaur*
confounder: that is NOT a horse
centaur: it IS a horse, it just has six legs and four eyes and is large enough for me to ride. You agreed to a horse race, you didn't specify it had to have four legs.
confounder: ...
centaur: ...
confounder: I hate you
centaur: you brought this upon yourself
