But who is Anna Liebert, after all? It makes me confused to know if she is Nina the monster version or the female Johan version. Well, for me, she is someone with Johan's personality and Nina's body, as if was the 3rd twin that never existed or was formulated in Johan's imagination when he disguised himself as Nina
HCs Grimmer bonding with Nina and Dieter
Grimmer always takes Dieter to soccer practice days
Dieter and Nina always make breakfast for him when he’s sick and viceversa
Grimmer learned Nina’s favorite movie, tv show, singer, favorite music because he wants to be closer to her. And Nina thinks is adorable cause he has a notebook where he writes it.
When Dieter is struggling with his math homework, Grimmer helps him (or he tries to, since he’s not as good in maths)
When it’s raining, snowing, or it’s a cold weather, Grimmer makes hot cocoa (yea the ref) for both Dieter and Nina.
Of course, Grimmer takes Dieter fishing.
When it’s Dieter or Nina’s birthday, Grimmer already had months thinking of the perfect gift, because he wants to make them happy. And he in fact gives them the best presents.
Grimmer likes to paint Nina’s nails and sometimes he chooses the color and whilst, she talks to him about her college, a new gossip about her friends or something of the kind
One day, Grimmer broke accidentally an absurdly expensive vase Tenma bought in russia during his trips with the MSF, so, he offered money to one of them to take the blame, so Tenma won’t be mad at him. (Yeah Malcom in the middle reference)

We need more Monster fics about Grimmer bonding with Dieter and/or Nina. Mostly Nina because I truly think they would’ve adored each other. I believe Grimmer could’ve been the one to understand her better than anyone.

MONSTER ACTORS AU HEADCANONS PT 2
Since a lot of people liked the last post abt actor au here’s the second part of it.
Tenma and Johan have opposed clothing style irl in difference of their clothes during the show; Johan is most likely to use shirts, jeans and t-shirts while Tenma is more likely to use suits and turtleneck sweaters. Like, during an interview, Johan admitted that turtleneck sweaters were uncomfortable because of the hot weather.
Epsilon and Johan are the same person (actor)
Rung (the Vietnamese Doctor) and Tenma are siblings irl
The cross dressing scenes in Prague where mostly performed by Nina’s actress but Johan’s actor was willing to dress as Nina too and he did once or twice mostly the scenes with Suk lmao

Nina took a lot of clothing from the set because she literally ADORES all the dresses she wore.
Eva is actually redhead but she dyed her hair (I took this idea bc Idk where I read, Eva was supposed to be redhead and I personally love the idea)
Tenma and Johan read together all of the Tenjoh fanfics. Johan is the one actually enjoying and wheezing and Tenma is all uncomfortable and shocked, he’d be like “why would they write that?”
In the other hand Tenma would read the Guriten fanfics and he’d be like so flustered but he’d enjoy it. (He’s the strongest Guriten shipper)
Of course the filming would be placed in Germany and Czech Republic and some moments are placed in France and Poland.
Lunge and Roberto get along really well out of the set, like they’re hanging out and joking around.
Tenma followed a very rigorous and restrictive diet to loose weight to represent the depression more realistically. And of course he grew his hair. Plus, before starting the filming, he didn’t want to grew his hair because he thought he wouldn’t look good, but through the series he discovered he actually loved it long and by the end of the series he stayed with his hair long (and the final scene where he has short hair again he was using a wig)
By the end, Lunge bought a beer for Grimmer (just like they couldn’t do in the series) (coping mechanism)
Grimmer came out as bisexual and a few months later Tenma came out as gay and the whole fandom started to make conjetures because they saw them together a lot of times.
I loved making these, pls tell me if you want me to keep working on this AU and If you have more hcs don’t be shy and share them 🤭
Monster AU twins role swap
I fckng love the concept of Nina (in this case Anna) being the villian because she had all right to become one. And I personally adore the idea of Johan being nice, sweet and a good person.
I’m rooting for Tenma and Johan teaming up in order to stop Anna. And Anna laughing and enjoying herself that a bunch of men can’t deal with her like OMG?!??? Fem villians are my weakness sorry.
Bonus points if Roberto and Grimmer role swapped too and Roberto is the one helping Tenma in Prague and Grimmer is Anna’s right hand.
And bonus points because of the potential enemies to lovers with Tenma and Grimmer

My Roman Empire is that Grimmer didn’t met Nina and Dieter
The way he would care a lot about them, he would’ve been so kind and so sweet to Dieter and he would’ve been so protective and gentle with Nina I’m in tears. And Dieter and Nina would definitely ADORE HIM.
I can picture Grimmer playing soccer with Dieter, struggling while doing his math homework with him and preparing his lunch for school before taking him to the bus stop and I can picture Grimmer being there for Nina in her PTSD episodes because he would understand her better than anyone (obv Tenma would understand too) But Grimmer and Nina went through almost the same hell in their childhood so yeah

OMG ITS EVERYTHING
Everything about the bond they share is everything to me. Everything about their relationship (romantic or platonic) is very important to me.
They’re very fond of each other and at some point in the story they become the dearest and most important person in the others life. Chasing Johan for the same reasons or the same cause. Almost fighting in order to avoid the other to sh0t and become a murderer. Nina would do anything for Tenma and Tenma would do anything for Nina.
Through the whole series we saw them share very short moments together but even if it was short the amount of time they spent together the way the presence of the other affects entirely in them. And I’m rooting for that.
The simnifically large amount of parallels they share, like those moments taking care of Dieter.
Nina is entire, true and desperately devoted to Tenma, she tried so hard protecting him at all cost, whiling to her own humanity because she didn’t want him to become a murd3r3r. She wanted him to keep saving lives, to keep being a doctor.
Not to mention Tenma practically said that his life was meaningless without her, he begged her on his knees to staying alive, because he didn’t know where he would go without her.
A lot of people saw them as family but to be honest at least for me it was beyond that. The bond that grew between them it was so much powerful and complex. It was different the way Nina saw her father and the way she saw Tenma.
There’s a lot of more that I could say about them but I fear that I would write like 5k words lmao.
So yea basically that’s a very VERY short explanation of why I love them as a ship.
You’re free to disagree, it’s okay. We are all free to have our own interpretations about things. specially because Urasawa himself let a lot of things to our own interpretation. 💗 ^^
Sorting Monster characters into Hogwarts houses pt 1.
Trust me. I know what I’m talking about.
(No, Tenma is not a Gryffindor and no, Johan is not a Slytherin. Let’s stop sorting characters only because they’re good or evil)
Not all villians are Slytherin and not all heroes are Gryffindor.
I could consider Tenma a Hufflepuff but he has some attitudes and he takes some decisions that are quite unacceptable in the Hufflepuff philosophy.
MONSTER ACTORS AU HEADCANONS
Tenma and Johan actors get along extremely well out of the set. Like, they are always hanging out and taking random pictures of each other and posting them on their instagram. And they’re always on interviews together. This is a great contrast to their relationship in the show
During the filming someone who makes the cast laugh the most is, surprisingly, Lunge. Sometimes is on purpose and sometimes his poker face to stay on character makes them laugh.
Grimmer actor made almost zero mistakes during his filming. During the filming he never forgot any of his dialogues. But he did laugh once or twice when he was with Tenma or Lunge
Of course Nina and Johan are twins in real life and their actors when they were little are their cousins. (But their cousins aren’t twins tho)
This was Dieter’s first role and he got along really well with the whole cast. Obviously, specially with Tenma.
Eva actress had a little crush on Tenma but nothing happened between them. They stayed as friends only.
Sometimes when Johan is in public and kids see him, they’re a little bit scared but he smiles and says: “Don’t worry, I promise I’m actually a good guy.”
Dr Reichwein was filming another show at the same time.
Tenma doesn’t have an Stuntman, he decided to record all of his action scenes, including the ones where he gets hit by a car. Lol
Tenma, Nina and Johan have a lot of Vogue covers.
The most difficult scenes to film for Tenma and Johan are the ones where they stare at each other for too long because they both start laughing. The scene in the library where Tenma points at Johan with the gun took almost 40 repetitions because they laughed all the time.
Eva actually hates alcohol so the times she had to be drunk she was actually drinking apple juice because the color was the closest to the whiskey’s
We seriously don’t talk enough about Dr Reichwein. He was a father to Tenma, Nina and Dieter, he literally adopted the three of them.
I just know they lived together happily at the end.
I mean, Reichwein lived alone before they came to his life, I know Reichwein felt a little bit lonely but at the end I just know he feels happier with them.
He was more of a father to Tenma than his own parents, he was always there when Tenma got arrested. And Reichwein always took care of Nina when she had her PTSD episodes. Plus, the way he cared for Dieter it was so sweet, like a grandpa and grandson 😭
I love thinking of them on Christmas Day, halloween, Easter, their birthdays, Dieter’s first day of school, Dieter’s soccer games, going on vacation.
Stop. Found family is my favorite trope.
